Meet your guides
Falmouth Uncovered is led by Will & Bobby — two storytellers who share a deep love of this town, past and present.

We share the same tour-guiding priorities:
We meet people with warmth and curiosity.

We look for the funny side.

We steer clear of anything dull.

Will
Will believes that connecting with history makes the world far more vibrant, and he's always loved sharing that with others. He's developed a knack for engaging the not-bothered while satisfying the curiosity of the keen-beans.

His love of history began with his first Horrible History book at age eight and has carried him through school and beyond. In his twenties he worked in the unexploded ordnance industry, using historical evidence to assess the risk of WWII bombs to construction projects.

In 2019, he joined the Professional Writing MA at Falmouth University. Arriving just before lockdown, he used the time to dive deep into Falmouth’s history, becoming convinced that the town’s story needed sharing (by someone wearing a pirate hat).

He also spent the lockdowns learning to play traditional folk music on a button-accordion. His punchy-yet-melodic playing now accompanies his tours — if it's not raining at least!

When not pirating or folking, Will is a qualified counsellor, a lover of scruffy rescue dogs, and a struggling squash player.

Bobby
Bobby grew up in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, surrounded by a strong storytelling tradition where sitting down with people and unfurling a narrative came naturally.

History was everywhere — from Native American culture and Civil War battlegrounds to the nuclear research facilities of Oak Ridge — and he quickly developed a habit of deep historical curiosity.

After moving to the UK in 2003 and living across the country, it was Falmouth that finally felt like home. It’s here that his good-natured charisma has truly flourished, making him one of the town’s most familiar and much-loved faces.

In 2025 he was named the first American Town Crier in Falmouth’s history, a role he has embraced with care, enthusiasm and a genuine love of connecting with people.

Bobby lives full-time on a boat with his wife, with whom he once won an episode of the gameshow Pointless. He hosts a weekly music show on the community radio station, Source FM, every Saturday evening.
